What is EMDR ?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy treatment that was originally designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories.
It uses bilateral stimulations (taping on each sides of the body alternatively, using buzzers in both hands or via visual stimulation) combined with talk therapy in a specific and structured format to facilitate the accessing and processing of negative images, emotions, beliefs and body sensations associated with a traumatic memories and other adverse life experience that seem to be stuck to bring these to an adaptive resolution.

Nowadays, the extend of EMDR goes beyond trauma, it can also help with difficulty after a break up, jealousy, phobias, weight management and eating disorders, bereavement or even performance anxiety
