DIABETIC FOOT ASSESSMENT

One of the most common complications of diabetes, especially in poorly controlled diabetes, is a loss of sensation in the skin of the feet, by nerve damage: peripheral neuropathy.
Diabetes with poor circulation and peripheral neuropathy can delay healing and increase risks of infection. These patients may not be able to detect heat, cold, pain, touch or vibration sensations. So, they may not notice if they have a minor cut, sore or wound. Picture: Baropodometry (assessment of plantar pressures)

ACUTE & CHRONIC WOUNDCARE MANAGEMENT

If left untreated, minor foot injuries can become an ulceration and can even lead to amputation. We assess this risk at the clinic by testing circulatory, sensory status and assessing the nerve sensation. The aim is to do prevention, identify risk factors, and thus avoid wounds and amputations.
Our highly trained professional podiatrist Jérôme HADDAD (Pitié-Salpêtrière University Hospital in Paris, reference center for diabetic neuropathy in France) is expert in diabetic foot assessment. In the case of wounds, we have an effective protocol for wound healing.
An annual foot assessment is recommended for monitoring and prevention.

A Podiatric treatment involves prescribing footwear and insoles to help with the condition.
