Dr Laura Abbeel graduated magna cum laude from the Faculty of Medicine at KU Leuven, Belgium, in 2013, and qualified as a Consultant in Ophthalmology at University Hospitals Leuven, Belgium, in 2017.
Dr Abbeel completed traineeships in ophthalmology at Torbay and South Devon NHS hospitals (2017), and an oculoplastic fellowship at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals (2018) and at the AMC (Amsterdam Medical Centre) in the Netherlands (2020).
Dr Abbeel formerly held a private consultant post at OMC (Oogheelkundig Medisch Centrum) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and holds a private consultant post in Antwerp, Belgium (AZ Monica Antwerp hospitals, Sharper Image).
