Dr Noriko Suzuki has been a member of staff at St Mark’s since 1998 and an honorary consultant specialist endoscopist since 2004, and offers a patient-centred medical experience.

Profile

Dr Noriko Suzuki trained in medicine at Osaka City University and completed her specialist training in Japan. She has been a member of staff at St Mark’s since 1998 and an honorary consultant specialist endoscopist since 2004.

Her specialist interests include the prevention, diagnosis and management of intestinal diseases using endoscopy. She has a particular interest in complex therapeutic endoscopy, such as endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD).

Dr Suzuki is currently a NICE committee member for lower GI ESD and the technical lead of the BSG ESD interest group. She also has a strong relationship with the Japanese gastrointestinal society, as an international committee member of the Japanese Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Society and an international advisory member of the International Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Training Center in Kobe (I GET KOBE).

She has published over 70 papers, mainly in endoscopy journals such as Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Endoscopy. Her PhD was on “Flat neoplasms in Western and Japanese population”.
